Cartridges for the Apple Stylewriter series

Most Stylewriter printers are redesigned versions of Canon printers. 
So Canon inkjet cartridges (or compatibles) will fit Stylewriter printers.
Of course you must use a specific cartridge. Apple also sold cartridges.
Many inkjet cartridge manufacturers or resellers will tell you which of 
their products will work with particular Apple printers.

Stylewriters & black cartridges

The Stylewriter 1200, Stylewriter, and Stylewriter II use the Canon BC-02 or 
Canon BC-01 black ink cartridges or other compatible cartridges. The Apple ink cartridge 
was M8041G/C

Color Stylewriter 2400, 2500
-----------------------------

Apple produced the Color Stylewriter 2400, and a 2500 model also.
These printers are based on Canon printer models such as the
BJC-4000, and use the same color and black cartridges. There
are two kinds of print cartridges for these printers; a large
one for black only use, and a pair of small color and black "tanks"
in a carrier for color use.

For B&W printing there is a large black cartridge which fits into
the printer carriage. Apple designation for this is the "Black Ink
Cartridge", model M3240G/A. Canon refers to this as the
"BC 20" cartridge. This provides
more black ink than the color/black cartridge pair.

For color printing, there is a small black "tank" paired with a small
color "tank", which fit in a carrier-like "cartridge" device which holds them both and
which is then inserted into the printer carriage. Apple refers
to these as the "color ink tank", the "black ink tank" and
the "color ink cartridge" respectively.

Apple sold the color ink cartridge with black and color tanks as model M3328G/A.

Canon calls the color tank "BCI-21 color", and the
black tank  "BCI-21 black" and sells those seperately. They both fit into the Apple or Canon "color BJ cartridge". Canon sells the cartridge with color and black tan as model BCI-21e. 

Stylewriter 4100
----------------

The Stylewriter 4100 is not a Canon printer but an HP printer design. It
uses HP No.49 (51649A) color cartridge and HP No.29 (51629A) black
cartridge, check the Web (or Staples) for these supplies.
