LC and Comm Slot support ------------------------- Here is a list of Macs which may support the LC compatible cards; and the various comm slot cards. I can't warrent this list is complete or correct, you should check whatever documentation you can find, including archived info on Apple's Web site at apple.com. For more information on the Macs I offer, check my Mac Home page at http://retrotechnology.com/herbs_stuff/mac.html Last updated Nov 3 2005, Herb Johnson LC slot Macs: -------------- LC, LC II, LC III LC 475, LC 520, LC 550, LC 575, LC 580, LC 630 Performa and/or Power Mac or Power PC models: 250 275 400 405 410 430 450 460 466 467 475 476 520 550 560 575 577 578 580CD 588CD 630 630CD 631CD 635CD 636 636CD 637CD 638CD 5200CD 5210CD 5215CD 5220CD 5260CD 5260/120 5270CD 5280 5300CD 5320CD 6200CD 6205CD 6210CD 6214CD 6216CD 6218CD 6220CD 6230CD 6260CD 6290CD 6300CD 6310CD 6320CD Quadra 605, 630 Comm slot Macs: --------------- The original "Comm Slot" architecture was known as Comm Slot I, and was the one used on computers such as the Power Macintosh 600, 630, 6200, 6300, 5400, 5500 5200, and 5300. The Comm Slot II architecture is used with the Power Macintosh 7220, 5400, 6360, 6400 series, and 6500 series computers, as well as the Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh. Check the specifications of your Mac, on Apple's Web site or from other sources. CARDS for comm slots fit one slot kind, or both: you have to look at the edge connector on the card. If the edge connector has a slot or gap near the center of the board, it's Slot II; if the gap is near the END of the board, it's Slot I; if there are TWO gaps, it will work with either Slot I or Slot II.
