Intel  Multibus based development systems for 8080 8085



When reading the below, keep in mind that "MDS is an ordering system, not
a name". Translation: Intel was told by Mohawk Data Services not to use their initials. 

MDS-200 series: a hodge-podge

Small blue boxes, with a row of push buttons on the front. The cards are horizontal.

MDS-220, 221, 222 - IPB type CPU board, internal 8" floppy, CRT
MDS-225 - IPC type CPU board
MDS-230 - ??? CPU board, MDS-720 floppy drive
MDS-240 -??? CPU board, hard drive, MDS-720 floppy drive optional
MDS-286 - IIOC 8086 CPU board

The above are in a 6-slot Multibus chassis, with the IPB/IPC interrupt
switches on the front. The slots are horizontal. 

MDS-201, 202 are the 4-slot Multibus expansion chassis, 

MDS-210 is a low-profile chassis with a four-slot Multibus, which may contain
an IPB CPU, or it may be upgraded with an IPC CPU. 

MDS-720 is a double density floppy controller and cabling kit and a pair
	of 8-inch floppies

The IPB is an 8080A CPU board, with optional PROM daughter card
The IPC is an 8085 CPU board. 
The IOC is an 8086 CPU board. 
These are  Multibus but not of standard dimensions. 

intellec 800 AKA intellec mds

A large blue box, with several flip switches on the front. The cards are vertical.
There's an 18-slot Multibus backplane, cards facing left/right. 

MDS 710 -  floppy drives and single density controller
MDS 720 - floppy drives and double density controller
MDS 730 - drives only not sold with controller

May be in a low-profile case ( horizontally mounted.) or "upright" (vertically mounted). DOn't
know how that's designated.
