Apple III parts, not systems, not advice

This is a stub Web page, to show I have two Apple III keyboards available and to show their differences and details. This is work in progress. My Apple II parts and systems-for-parts are on this linked Web page. Thanks to deskthority.net for details about keyswitches. Contact-me information is at the end of this Web page. - Herb Johnson

I'll refer to the top keyboard with light grey keycaps as "Atlanta Photocircuits"; the bottom keyboard with dark grey keycaps as "TKC" for "The Keyboard Company". These are logos on the keyboard PC boards. Later I identify these with the Apple III and III Plus.

The four cursor keys, are double-action. That is, pressed harder, they perform another function. In this case, they repeat the cursor movement. On modern keyboards, holding down the key provides a repeat function.

Atlanta Photocircuits

One keyboard has the logo Atlanta Photocircuits possibly in mid-1983 and "Apple computer inc.", and has light grey single-shot keycaps. PC board numbers are 820-0084-03 656-5032 for the main board and 820-0085-03 for the auxiliary PC board with double-action cursor keys. Paper tag is 658-4032.

The light-grey keycaps and linear array of cursor keys, identify this keyboard as for the Apple III Plus.

Again, keycaps are light grey. Keyswitches have tall white stems and are called "Alps SKCC Tall Cream". The double-action keyswitches are Alps SKFF Double Action with short black stems with springs. Here's a close view of the keystems and keycaps. Some keystems are broken. The small PC board for the cursor keys is in this photo.

Further details later.

TKC The Keyboard Company

The other keyboard has the logos "Apple Computer Inc" and "The Keyboard Company", and has dark grey double-shot keycaps. PC board numbers ar K820-0007-03 and K-620-4001-0 for the main board and K-820-0008-01 for the double-action cursor keys board. Paper tag is K620-4001.

The dark-grey keycaps and L-array of cursor keys, identify this keyboard as for the Apple III.

Again, keycaps are dark grey. Keyswitches have short white stems and are called "Alps SKCC Cream". They have grey extensions or height adapters. The double-action keyswitches are Alps SKFF Double Action with short black stems with springs. Here's a close view of the keystems and keycaps. Some keystems are broken. The small PC board for the cursor keys is in this photo.

Further details later.
